Winning medals for the Lady Jags were: Li Anne Harris (23:29) in seventh and Blair Dunaway (25:01) in 25th out of 250 runners in the varsity girls division.
Rounding out the rest of the Lady Jags lineup were: Jordan Tapley (25:28), Stephanie Estrada (26:01), Emma Johnston (26:33), Emily Peek (27:24), Taylor Hendricks (27:25) and Grenisha Daniel (29:51).
The Jags were led by Daniel Blake (19:55), Jon Eady (20:45), Brett Piland (20:52), Hez Apperson (21:29), Ryan Silvis (21:24), Dakota Hayden (21:47), Bryce Thompson (22:03) and Christian Gray (21:38).
“I was pleased with how all the kids ran under the conditions of the field and by the fact that some teams members did not run the course as they were supposed to,” said SHS coach Dolores Owen.
In the Girls Middle School Division there were 120 runners. Desire Arnold (19:23) finished 18th, Alicia Jordan (20:16) was 23rd and Morgen Scott (24:39) was 48th.
In the Boys Middle School Division there were 210 runners. Kaleb Holton (17:22) was 17th, Austin Peek (18:22) was 28th and Hunter Jenkins (19:24) was 30th.
“We are looking forward to the meet Saturday at Jones County,” Owen said of her team’s next meet. “We have had a lot of kids with the flu, but hopefully everyone will be ready to go at full strength on Saturday.”
