SYLVESTER, Ga. — The Spalding High Lady Jaguars softball team got outstanding pitching from Lora Rape and four RBIs from Jennifer Viera to lead them to a 7-0 Game 3 victory over the Worth County Lady Rams Thursday evening to win the first-round state playoff series on the road.

The Lady Jags won the series 2-games-to-1 and now advance to the Class AAAA Sweet 16, where they will face the Rutland Lady Hurricanes in another best-of-three series next Wednesday in Macon.

Rape threw a 1-hitter Thursday, with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks and baffled the Worth County players all evening long. The Spalding bats came alive in Game 3, with Viera smashing a two-run triple and a two-run single for her 4-RBI night and McKenleigh Kilgore going 3-for-4 in the game.

Zorria Mann doubled and Rape, Jessica Bunn and Nesia Walker singled and Haedyn Kilgore scored 2 runs in the contest.

LADY JAGS SPLIT WITH WORTH (Wednesday): Spalding split with Worth County in doubleheader action Wednesday, losing Game 1 by the score of 6-0, but rebounding to win Game 2, 12-0.

Haedyn Kilgore went 2-for-2 in Game 1, while McKenleigh Kilgore and Jennifer Viera both singled in the loss. In Game 2, Lora Rape threw a 1-hitter and the Lady Jags ripped 9 hits in the four-inning 12-0 win. McKenleigh Kilgore went 3-for-3, Haedyn Kilgore and Rape went 2-for-3 and Jasmine Holland and Viera singled for Spalding.
