Pope signs with North Carolina A&T

Griffin High senior John Pope signed a national letter of intent to play college baseball at North Carolina A&T State University, located in Greensboro, N.C., on Nov. 16 at GHS. Pope has worked hard to attain the goal of continuing his baseball career at the next level. The senior has not only worked hard on the field, but he has also done well in the classroom.

"This is a great honor for John, his family, his coaches and the teachers who have taught him through the years," said Griffin head baseball coach Kevin Mobley.

Pope has been a catcher for the Bears on the diamond, and he will be looked to this year to provide strong senior leadership. North Carolina A&T is a member of the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
