The Griffin Police Department (GPD) was dispatched to a location on North 8th Street Wednesday at around 4:35 p.m. in reference to shots fired. When police officers arrived at the scene, they were flagged down by the 38-year-old male victim.

According to a GPD incident report, the victim stated that he and another male were sitting on the front porch of the North 8th Street residence when the 42-year-old male suspect came to the location and confronted the victim regarding a female that both of them had dated.

The victim further stated that the suspect had a gun in his hand, which he pointed in the victim’s direction and then fired several shots. The suspect then reportedly left the scene in a vehicle driven by his son, as the two drove off southbound on South 8th Street.
