“He is the kind of employee we look for in Griffin,” said Public Works Director Brant Keller. “He has been repeatedly nominated by the plant operator for the award, but there has been some really strong competition.”
Keller said Beckham joined the city in January 2007 and a trainee at the Simmons water plant.
“That’s not something we usually do,” Keller said. “We usually try to hire trained operators, but he has worked his way up, through hard work and dedication from Class 3 to Class 1 operator.”
