During their current three-game winning streak, the Skipstone Academy Warriors football team has dispatched their 3 opponents with relative ease, winning by a composite score of 97-24. It may be a bit tough to extend their winning streak to four, however, as they host Calvary Christian tonight in non-region action at Warrior Field at 7:30 p.m.

It will be Skipstone's third straight home game and final home tilt for 2012.

“Calvary is good. They run the double wing like we run and they execute it real well,” said Warriors head coach Dan Salvador. “They block real well, hitting you from all angles.”

The Warriors (3-4 overall) will try to stop Calvary (1-5), which beat Griffin Christian 45-15 last week, from getting into its comfort zone tonight.

“We’ve been working on special teams and Alex has looked good on field goals. We’ve also made a few tweaks on defense but other than that, we’ve kept things the same,” Salvador said. “We just want our playmakers to make plays on offense.”

And speaking of the Warriors offense, Salvador said he finally has three of his playmakers — Rico Corbin, Jamiro Winston and Christian Stewart — all 100 percent healthy for this game.

“This game will tell us whether we are really good or not,” he said.

Griffin Christian (1-5, 0-2 ICSGA South) at Community Christian (2-3-1, 0-1 ICSGA South):

The Griffin Christian Crusaders have played much better this year than last, but a small roster and some truly bad breaks have been prevalent in their current 5-game losing streak. The Crusaders hope to end the streak tonight as they travel to Stockbridge to take on the Community Christian School Knights in ICSGA South division action at 7:30 p.m.

GC is playing its fifth road game in seven contests this year.

CCS is coming off a 20-13 road loss to Unity Christian in non-league action last week.

Crusaders head coach Bobby Brogdon said his team has practiced “harder than ever” this week and they should be ready for the Knights.

“Coach [Gary] Pettus has had our lines hitting each other hard this week,” said Brogdon. “We’ll be ready, I believe.”

GC will put Taylor Dunn at quarterback and move Dillan Brogdon — the team's normal starting QB — to middle linebacker and possibly at fullback tonight.

Faith Christian Academy (2-2) at Life Christian Academy:

The Faith Christian Academy Lions won their homecoming game last Saturday over Dominion Christian to give the team their first two-game win streak in at least two years. They will try to make it three straight tonight as they travel to Albany, Ga. to face the Life Christian Academy Warriors in independent 8-man football action at 7:30 p.m.

The Lions will be looking for a measure of revenge tonight as Life nipped FCA 58-54 last year in the Lions’ homecoming game.
