MARIETTA — Phillip Goodrum and Markee Dickerson scored 15 each to lead Jags to a big 69-62 win over Walton High on Friday night in non-region action.

Omari O’Neal added 13, Alex Bonner 9 and Xeryous Dewberry 7 for SHS, which improved to 5-2 overall as it won its third straight.

While the two teams stood tied 12-all at the end of the first quarter, Spalding led 34-29 at the half before the game headed into the fourth quarter tied 49-all.

“We limited Walton to one shot and we hit our free throws against Walton,” said Spal head coach Kemo Spear. “We attacked them and made them guard us.”

The victory avenges an 88-78 loss on Dec. 1 to Walton at home.
