Mr. Henry C. Steward, age 66 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Steward was born in Griffin, Ga., on Oct. 15, 1945. He is preceded in death by parents, Henry Thomas Steward and Nina Burnett Steward. He was retired with the City of Griffin and the Salvation Army.

Survivors include wife, Alice Key Steward; children, Tommy Baker, Scott Baker; nephew, Terry Stewart; sisters, Diane Goins, Edna Tant; brother, Pete Steward; Ernie the dog.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Henry C. Steward will be conducted on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Griffin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mildred Adell Hollis Finley

Dec. 8, 1925 – July 27, 2012

Mrs. Mildred Adell Hollis Finley age 86 of Griffin, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Finley was born December 8, 1925, in Rockmart, Ga., to the late Homer R. and Louella McAdam Hollis. She retired from Dundee Mills and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Duel D. Finley.

Survivors include her son, Steve Finley of Barnesville; daughter Wanda Moore and husband David of Griffin; two sisters, Louise Lester of Rockmart and Mary Nell Walker of Roswell. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Todd Finley of Griffin, Brandy Finley of Arizona, Chad Moore and wife Shannon of Williamson and Kevin Moore of Griffin.

The Finley family would like to extend a special thank you to Brenda Finley, Sheila Stewart, Mae Hill and Brightmoor Hospice for their special care.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Finley will be conducted on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Hollis will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Lottie B. Gowan

May 26, 1911 – July 26, 2012

Mrs. Lottie Bell Kincaid Gowan, age 101 of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her residence.

Mrs. Gowan was born in Helena, Ga., on May 26, 1911. She is preceded in death by parents, James Earl Kincaid and Annie Mae Furney Kincaid; and her husband Abie Gowan Sr. Mrs. Gowan retired from Sears.

Survivors include son, Aubie Gowan Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Ana Gowan; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria “Peggy” and Richard Dinsmore; sisters, Imogene Farrell and Juanita Martin; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Gowan will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug, 1, 2012, at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Tampa, Fla. Rev. Neal Pharr will officiate.
