Mattie Kate Fergerson, 88, of Griffin, Ga., passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Fergerson; and sons, Masudi Mariah, Larry Fergerson. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Yvonne (Larry) Gould; sons, Patrick and Reginald Fergerson; grandsons, Victor Walker, Sebastian (Shonda) Fergerson, A. Martinez Fergerson, Steven Fergerson; granddaughters, Sutona Fergerson, Galyn Fergerson; great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Oak Hill Cemetery of Griffin. Miller’s Family Mortuary Inc. is in charge of arrangements. 770-228-4077.

Mrs. Lisa Deanne Wheeler Clay

Mrs. Lisa Deanne Wheeler Clay, 34, of Thomaston, died Jan. 22, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Mrs. Clay was born July 18, 1978, in Thomaston to Wendell and Judy Wheeler. She graduated from Upson-Lee High School in 1996. After graduation, she attended Gordon College and then attended Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy, where she received her pharmacist degree in 2002. Mrs. Clay was employed with Wal-Mart in Griffin, where she worked as the manager in the Pharmacy Department.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Jeremy Heath Clay, of Thomaston; sons, Jacob Clay and Hunter Clay, both of Thomaston; father, Mr. Wendell Wheeler, of Thomaston; mother, Mrs. Judy Wheeler, of Thomaston; brothers, Mr. Billy Wheeler, of Thomaston, Mr. Dell Wheeler, of Thomaston; sisters, Mrs. Wendy (Ryan) Hasley, of Atlanta; Miss Niki Wheeler, of Thomaston; father and mother-in-law, Mr. Jim (Mary) Clay, of Thomaston; honorary sister, Jennifer McDaniel; brother-in-law, Josh Clay; sister-in-law, Michelle Grammer; niece, Ashlyn Clay; and nephews, Mason Hasley, Nicholas Grammer, and Nelson Grammer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, from The Storehouse Church. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacob and Hunter Clay Memorial Fund at West Central Georgia Bank at any location.

Mr. Arlie Clay Aukerman

Mr. Arlie Clay Aukerman, 91, of Lovejoy, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mr. Aukerman was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 9, 1922. He is preceded in death by his parents, Monroe Aukerman and Frances Sloan Aukerman; his first wife, Elizabeth Aukerman; daughter, Evelyn Marie Aukerman. Mr. Aukerman was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Aukerman; son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Aukerman; daughters, Mary Aukerman, Julie Dingmon, Anna Synder; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Arlie Clay Aukerman will be on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted in the chapel. Reverend Michelle Rawdin will officiate.

Mrs. Geneva L. Lovin

Mrs. Geneva Louise Lovin, 82, of Hampton, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Sylvan Grove Hospital.

Mrs. Lovin was born in Rome, Georgia on May 7, 1931. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Connie Estes, her husband A. D. Lovin and was a member of Hammond Drive Baptist Church.

Survivors include children, Gary Lovin and his wife Deborah, Wayne Lovin and his wife Michelle, Jeannie Tolen and her husband, Danny, George Lovin, Connie Kaylor and her husband Steve, Mary McDaniel and her husband, Josh; 19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Eddie Jones will officiate.

Mrs. Jeanette McDonald Huff, 75, of Williamson, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Southern Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Huff was born in Milner Georgia on November 20, 1937. She is preceded in death by parents, Willie Thomas McDonald and Ruby Corine Brinkley McDonald, husband, Bobby Howard Huff, brother, Jerry McDonald, brothers-in-law, Dudley Huff, Myron Parker, Reuben Newman. She attended Williamson Christian Church.

Survivors include son, Charles Keith Huff; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Brett Davis; grandchildren, Joshua Huff, Brandy Bass and Husband, Mitchell, Hunter Davis; great grandchildren, Erin Bass and Nolan Bass; sister, Mary Newman; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Linda McDonald; sisters-in-law, Claudette McDonald, Kathryn Huff, Ann Huff, Frances H. Parker; nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Jeanette M. Huff will be on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery, section E-3. Reverend Lewis James will officiate. Mr. Ewell Gene King, 68, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mr. King was born Nov. 24, 1944, in Griffin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and attended Central Baptist Church in Barnesville. He was preceded in death by his father, Ewell King Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Nadine King of Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Pastor Richard Don and Marianne C. King of Lamar County; nephews, Richard John King of Plano, Texas, Patrick Scott and Jennifer King of McDonough, Ga.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarah Elizabeth King of McDonough, Ga., Joshua Scott King, also of McDonough, Zachary Johnathan King of Plano, Texas, and Nichole Renee King, also of Plano.

Funeral services for Mr. Ewell Gene King will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Don King will officiate.
