New principals talk about goals

When the 2012-13 school year started on Aug. 13, the Griffin-Spalding County School System welcomed three new principals to its schools — Gloria Brown at Moore Elementary, Laura Jordan at Jackson Road Elementary and Jamie Cassady at A.Z. Kelsey Academy and the Achievement Center.

A fourth principal position at Kennedy Road Middle School, where Brenda Ford recently retired, is expected to be filled in September.

Although school has been in session a mere two weeks, Brown, Jordan and Cassady — who have never served as principal before — describe their experience so far as positive.
