— I was sorry to hear that Andy Williams died. He was the last of our great performers. It has been all downhill ever since those hippie Beatles started playing rock ’n’ roll.

— Now that the folks at Chick-fil-A have condoned the “gay” lifestyle and “same-sex marriage,” will they now be open on Sunday?

— Please, Wal-Mart, trim the shrubbery. Seeing clearly to exit the parking lot is very difficult. Thanks.

— La Hacienda Mexican restaurant is opening in the former location of Madame’s. I saw the menu of their Peachtree City location online. Prices are very reasonable, no $12 BLT sandwiches, and no coat and tie required.

— City and county leaders, please don’t waste money on a feasibility study of a fixed route bus system. Council on Aging Transportation Service has already provided the basic information needed to see a bus system will never pay for itself. They had a total of 34,678 paid fares last year at $2 per fare, for a total of less than $70,000.

— Every week I read about an Atlanta Falcons player being arrested. These Falcons truly are the “dirty birds.”

— I understand why any public school superintendent would talk against charter schools because they would require the superintendent to work harder in order to be more competitive. Charter schools provide much more competition than a private school because of the difference in funding. However, it’s a new low when PTA groups talk against the idea of letting parents have a competitive choice.

— Let me get this straight, two 17-year-old Griffin High School football players take an underage 15-year-old girl to an abandoned house for sex. One is even charged with statutory rape, and they only get suspended from the football team for two games. Guess that shows what is important in our town.

— Thank God that the regular NFL referees are back on the job. The replacement referees were so bad that I was about to start watching communist kickball (soccer).

— Only Obama would have Slick Willie, who has had impeachment proceedings, sex with an intern, and questionable business dealings investigated, be a spokesperson for him.

— I have so much gold to sell, but all the local “We Buy Gold” places have such subtle advertising it’s hard to find one.

— I would like to thank Shred-X and the city for organizing Public Shredding Day. I was able to get rid of 16 months’ worth of files that needed shredding. The Shred-X staff were so helpful and organized. Thank you.

— We need to stand up to these pagan influences in our society and we need to put a stop to these kids taking part in pagan rituals like Halloween.

— I set my DVR to record “The Biggest Loser” but all it recorded was Georgia Tech football.

— Mark Richt is the greatest football coach of all time.

— Are you kidding me? William Wilson gets a salary and retirement raise? Good people are lucky to have a job these days and they sure don’t have retirement anymore, maybe a 401(k) program. Then, we get slapped in the face by Wilson getting this. All I can say is, “He must know where the body is buried.”

— If we had allowed building the pipeline from Canada to the Gulf and opened public lands for drilling four years ago, we would now be self-sufficient in energy and would have created many jobs. Oil companies would have paid billions for drilling rights and paid the government millions in royalties. The many people with high-paying, new jobs would be paying millions in taxes.

— To all you rich people haters: When’s the last time a poor person gave you a job?

— Dredging the reservoir? How much is this going to run up my water bill? I got a better idea. Quit selling our water off to other counties. Let them go find their own water.

— The Flint River goes all the way down to the Georgia-Florida border, so there are probably alligators in the river. People should not be allowed on or near the river, because someone could get attacked.

— After a recent walk through my kids’ middle and high school I was prompted to look into how much they pay in electricity. Lights were on everywhere, in unoccupied rooms, several lamps on in classrooms, and a whole lot more wasted electricity. This is waste and is costing the taxpayers a whole lot of money.
