Mr. Michael Scott Stringer, 38, of Griffin, died on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010.

Mr. Stringer was born in Atlanta, Ga., on Feb. 24, 1971, to Mr. Dave Stringer and Mrs. Janice McClendon Moss.

Mr. Stringer is survived by wife, Janet Stringer; children, Lauren Stringer, Michael Stringer, and Jason Fitts; mother and stepfather, Jan and Rhuel Moss; brother and sister-in-law, David and Laura Stringer; one niece; and one nephew.

Mr. Stringer’s wish was to be cremated and no service will be held.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin, is in charge of arrangements.

Lauren, my son is a friend of yours from school. My prayers are with you and your brothers. Keep your head held high and don't forget what a wonderful girl you are.

Mike was a childhood friend of mine. I knew him since we were 6 years old. The Mike I choose to remember is the one that chased me around the playground in elementary school. Life was so much simpler then. My heart goes out to his family and the other innocent lives involved in this tragedy. May you finally be @ peace Stringbean.
