Mr. Young was born April 17, 1935, in Concord, Ga., to the late Gordon S. Young and the late Hattie Connell Young. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and retired from the Ford Motor Company. His wife, Clyde McDowell Young, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Erma Young of Rex, Ga.; daughter, Donna Cox of McDonough; grandchildren, Kelli Bush, Brittany Snow, James Young, Lacey Castillo, Ryan Cox and Catherine Cox; and great-grandchildren, Cody and Chase Snow.
Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Young will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, from the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Brightmoor Assisted Living Activities Fund, 3235 Newnan Road, Griffin, GA 30223, in memory of Mr. Young.
