Mr. Hewitt was born on Oct. 31, 1929, in Blair County, Pa., to the late Samuel Benjamin Hewitt and the late Virginia Ellen Heller Hewitt. He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Moorefield Hewitt. He was retired from Low-Temp Corporation of Jonesboro.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kimberley Hewitt of Griffin; and brother, Bob Hewitt of Hollidaysburg, Pa.
Cryptside funeral services for Mr. Hewitt will be conducted at noon Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Oak Hill Mausoleum. The Rev. Terry Butler will officiate. Friends and family are asked to assemble at the mausoleum by 11:50 a.m. on Friday.
