The Griffin Regional Welcome Center will host the Mistletoe Market Saturday.
“The Mistletoe Market is a showcase of area artisans, crafts people and artists,” said Main Street Program Manager Kira Harris-Braggs. “The purpose of the market is to not only to bring people downtown to shop during the Christmas holidays but also to showcase local arts.”
This year’s event will feature 26 vendors. Most of them are from Griffin but some come from Zebulon, Jackson, Locust Grove, Williamson, Milner and even Lawrenceville and Macon. The vendors will be selling a variety of items, including soap, gourmet food, purses, wind chimes and wood objects.
Mistletoe Market will take place at the welcome center, which is at 143 N. Hill St. In addition to the sale of goods, the event will feature the 4-H Club selling different types of decorated wreaths to raise funds, the opportunity to have one’s photograph taken with Santa Claus and the traditional mule cart ride through downtown Griffin.
The first 100 children (those 12 years old or younger) at the welcome center will receive a free gift courtesy of the Dwarf House Chick-fil-A and Dawn Dallaire Designs.
Downtown businesses will also get involved. They will participate in an open house with special sales and incentives. Participants include Blue Moon Bicycles, the Griffin Pawn Shop, Woody’s Furniture, the Tiger Lily, the Next Chapter Bookstore and the Griffin Gallery.
The event will run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Those interested in finding out more information should contact Harris-Braggs at 770-228-5356.
