Local artist wins prize at Georgia National Fair

Local artist Mary Thomas of Milner won second prize in the amateur division at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Ga., for her watercolor painting, “Daylilies.” She also won an Honorable Mention for her pencil drawing ” his is Love.” Mary is the wife of Danny Thomas and teaches at the First United Methodist Preschool. She is the Minister of Music at Friendship Baptist Church in Milner and is a member of the Griffin-Spalding Art Association. The painting, “Daylilies”, will be on display at the Iris City Art and Framing Shop in the Old Griffin Bottling Company.
