The Griffin Regional Welcome Center will host the local legislative delegation for breakfast and discussion of important issues Thursday morning.
“I just look forward to it,” said state Sen. John Douglas, R-Social Circle. “It’s always a good opportunity for us to connect with the community and talk about the issues of the day.”
He said one big issue will be the state budget — in fact, he expects it to be the biggest issue discussed. He expects water to be a big issue, as well as transportation and education.
“We always look forward to this particular program, to hear from our local legislators about the upcoming General Assembly and what might be expected for the coming year,” said Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bonnie Pfrogner.
Douglas, state Rep. John Yates, R-Griffin, and state Rep. David Knight, R-Griffin, have said they are coming. Only state Sen. Ronnie Chance, R-Tyrone, has not yet said whether or not he is coming.
The event costs $10 per person and will begin at 7:30 a.m. Those interested in finding out more information should contact the chamber at 770-228-8200.
