The win broke a two-game losing skid for Spalding, which improves to 5-4 overall.
The Reid trey capped a nice comeback for the Lady Jags, who trailed throughout the game. Walton led 14-10 after one quarter and led 31-17 at the half. Both teams had trouble scoring in the third quarter, but Walton still held on to a 36-25 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
"The girls were down at the half, but I told them they needed to show some heart in the third quarter and they did," said Lady Jags head coach Chad Hubbard.
Spalding clamped down on defense, holding Walton to only 12 second-half points while scoring 27 second-half points of their own, including 19 in the fourth quarter. Spalding found itself down 43-41 with five seconds left and that set the stage for Reid's heroics.
"Shaquoria threw the ball in to Veronica Anderson and she gave it back to Reid," said Lady Jags assistant coach Demetrius King. "Reid squared up at the three-point line and knocked it in."
Reid led the Lady Jags with 13 points, followed by Twandalette Cotton with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Desiree Corbin with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Spalding's next game is a road contest against the Newnan Lady Cougars Saturday at 2 p.m.
