NFL teams trimmed their rosters from 90 to 75 players by 4 p.m. yesterday and rookie running back Bobby Rainey survived the first set of roster cuts by the Baltimore Ravens, remaining with the team. Rainey is one of three Griffin natives who are still on NFL rosters today, including free safety Sherrod Martin of the Carolina Panthers and defensive end Chris Clemons of the Seattle Seahawks.

Notable NFL players getting cut included WR Terrell Owens (Seattle), QB Vince Young (Buffalo), K Billy Cundiff (Baltimore) and WRs Donte' Stallworth and Jabar Gaffney (New England). The Atlanta Falcons cut backup QB John Parker Wilson, formerly of the University of Alabama.

NFL rosters must be trimmed to the final 53 players by Friday at 9 p.m.
