The Griffin Police Department (GPD) was dispatched to a residence on Williams Street shortly after midnight on Sunday in reference to gunshots being fired, according to a GPD incident report.

While on their way to the scene, police officers learned of a second call — related to the first — regarding a vehicle being struck by gunfire and the victims standing by at the Liberty gas station on West Taylor Street.

When police arrived at the Williams Street residence, a female witness stated that she and others were sitting on their front porch when they heard several gunshots coming from across the railroad tracks.
