The Griffin Christian Crusaders basketball team had an easy time of it Thursday evening at home, beating the Macon Area Christian Mustangs 57-42 in non-region action.

The Crusaders won their seventh straight game to improve to 8-1 on the year.

It also set them up for a showdown with the only team that beat them this season, Mt. Vernon Presbyterian, a team GCHS played late Friday night at home.

Mt. Vernon is the No. 1 ranked team in the state in GISA.

Crusaders guard Anthony Lewis led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points, followed by Blake Yancey and Elias Seise with 9 points each.

Austin Gill added 8 points and Austin Craft chipped in 7 for the Crusaders, who were too much for the Mustangs Thursday night.

Crusaders head coach Mic Savage substituted players freely throughout the contest. Normal starters like Lewis, Yancey and others only played two quarters.
