Commission Chairman Gwen Flowers-Taylor put the item on the agenda to discuss the services provided to the Griffin-Spalding Development Authority, primarily the recent grass cutting provided out at the new industrial park.
“It’s not a gratuity,” Flowers-Taylor said. “If they want us to cut grass they should contract with us.”
County Manager William Wilson Jr. said, the Development Authority recently requested the county cut a portion of the Lakes at Green Valley as a prospect was coming in. Wilson said the county cuts the grass in the flat, graded areas and Development Authority has hired a company to cut the slopes, which because of the incline, have to be cut by hand.
