The Oak Hill Cemetery Preservers have repaired more then 300 headstones at Griffin’s historic cemetery.

Joe Harrell said the volunteer group Cemetery Preservers recently completed another project, the repair of a wall that had fallen over. One of the big projects last year was the cleaning of the angel statue in Stonewall Cemetery.

The Cemetery Preservers put out pamphlets for self-guided tours of the cemetery which include the history and some of people buried there including the namesakes of several of Griffin’s streets.
