Lisa Norton, during public comments portion of the meeting, asked the Airport Authority on behalf of her father who owns land on Banks Road about the purchase of property for the new airport site. Norton said she has heard all sorts of rumors and and wanted to know how much time they have.
“It won’t be fast,” said City Commissioner and Airport Authority Chairman Dick Morrow. “We need money, we’ll have to sell bonds.”
Norton was also concerned about the improvements to the site being taken into consideration including grading, fencing, ponds and how long they would have to look for a new home, as her parents have been there for 36 years.
